Description
Blade: 13″ “River of Fire” high carbon damascus steel – serrated
Handle: 6″ stainless steel, micarta, and charred curly maple
This exceptional piece was commissioned by a chef who specializes in Japamese-American fusion barbecue. The knife is designed to emulate (with some imagination) the shape of a Japanese tanto, the smallest of three swords carrie by the famed samurai warrior class. The River of Fire damascus flows sinuously along the blade, through the tsuba style guard, and chars the handle beyond. This piece is wild. What a fun project!
