Description
Blade: 4.5″ high layer Texas wind damsacus
Handle: 5″ mesquite burl, blued wrought iron, and pure silver
This is a fairly dressy take on the utilitarian drop point hunter. The damascus is about 800 layers, which produces an almost holographic effect called “chatoyance,” referring (in french) to the way the light reflects off of a cat’s eye. I also carved in some delicate vine-pattern filework along the spine of the blade.
A piece like this would cost about $900
